Courchevel - Morzine

This stage goes by a number of ski resorts of the "Savoie" and "Haute Savoie" regions: Moutiers, La Clusaz, le Grand Bornand, Samoens...
This stage is not as tough as the one that precedes it, but it still presents the peloton with a succession of difficulties from kilometer 50 on: "Col de Tanié," "Forclaz de Montmir," "Croix Fry," "côte de Chatillon," and most of all, the "Col de Joux-Plane," at an altitude of 1700 meters. 10 kilometers at 10% - in the last 20 kilometers.
It's the 20th anniversary of the first finish in Morzine, a modern ski resort that opened in 1936, 16 years after their ski club was created. Last rider to win in Morzine: Claveyrolat in 1991.
