Stage 7 Marennes - Bordeaux
190km
The stage doesn't comprise any major difficulty, but it could be dangerous because it could incite diversion offensives and their unpredictable consequences, especially if the wind's blowing. Careful of long breakaways that could completely alter the overall standings.
Bordeaux, which has hosted the Tour since 1903, is second to Paris in the number of times it has done so. From Leducq to Darrigade, it has generally been good to good riders who can sprint. Abdoujaparov, in 1993, Zabel, in 1995, and Moncassin, in 1996, were the last to win in Bordeaux.
