![]() Chantonnay - La Chatre 257km |
![]() |
Another very long stage. Almost 260 km between Chantonnay and la Châtre, a stage that crosses the "Poitevin" and "Berrichon" regions, filled with history: Mouilleron en Pareds, where Clémenceau and the Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny were born; Poitiers and the famous battle won by Charles Martel; the Saint Savin sur Gartempe church and its frescos, unique in Europe; Neuvy Saint Sépulcre and its strange abbey. This is the first time the Tour stops in La Châtre, in the "Vallée Noire" region, whose harsh charm was best described by Georges Sand. |
